Tot School # 2

Chook 30 months, Strawberry & Ooffa 13 months
Topic: Farm Animals.
Focus: Colours & developing oral language through exposure to Sensory Activities.

This week we started on the topic of Farm Animals. The sandpit became fenced paddocks of a variety of farm animals and Time For Bed by Mem Fox was our 'Story Candle' choice.

For Mummy and Me time, Chook and I took a drive out to the Bird and Animal Park. We are given a bag of animal feed and then we followed the path around the park.

First we visited the colourful birds. An excellent opportunity to talk about colours and feed the parrots some cut up apple.

This 'Hairy Coo' decided that Chook tasted pretty good!

Then it is onto the animals. We have lots of sensory talk.

This pony has big teeth.

Goats make funny noises!

Rabbits feel so soft.

The animal food smells like grass.

Farm visits make great sensory activities.

Tiny Tot School

It's a big week for Ooffa. He is on the cusp of taking his first step. He roars around the place behind his walker and is very good at manouvering it around corners and turning it around. He is also taking every opportunity to stand up at things. He's even started to let go and momentarily stand. The moment is too quick to capture on the camera! He is so thrilled with himself! He lets out a squeel of delight and does it over and over again.

Strawberry has a summer cold and has needed lots of cuddles. She is also getting up behind the walker and carefully stepping up and down the hallway. Once it hits an obstacle she tries to push through or goes back to the floor.
